    • U have the block feauture, user wont be able to enter the room if blocked
    • You have a red dot, users cant do anything in room
    • You have the ban function, if u dont want him back, ban the user

    I think the bounce function is a good option.

    I know in the Australian rooms, especially on the weekends, we have a few that consume more alcohol than they really should and violate room rules while they are "inked up". So a bounce on those people let's them back when the room opens the next day and no harm is done.

    Those people know, and accept the fact that they will be bounced for bad behaviour, so let's keep the bounce function. It serves a good purpose and provides a medium ground between a dot and a ban.

    I think its a good idea because at times it just takes some users just a little bounce then 24 hours out of the room to change their ways

    How about a bounce limit for room Admin/SuperAdmin/Owner?

    Admin = 10 bounce/day
    SuperAdmin = 25 bouce/day
    Owner = 50 bounce/day

    This will make them think twice before abusing their power at the same time they have the power to bounce.

    I Think It's A Great Feature,Tho Abused Often.
    Simba, You Are Right, The Other Options Are There And Work Great, But What If You Have An Extremely Abusive Nic (As In The Name Itself) Come In? Yes You Can Dot, Ban And Even Block. These Have NO Effect While The Name Is Sat In The Room Upsetting Poor GrandMa Or Little Jimmy Watching The Room With Mum (G Rated Room Of Course ). So The Bounce Feature Is A Handy One If Used Wisely In My Opinion.*** Take Care & Be Happy ***

    I think the bounce option is great, but agree that it is abused by people sometimes. Maybe if users are seen to be abusing the admin priviledges, they could be put on a bounce limit? say for instance Joe Bloggs bounces John Smith because he doesn't like his profile or his nic and then bounces someone else for a similar reason, if he gets flagged for excessive bouncing then he could be on a limit? Something like that anyway - if it made sense.

    Yes the bounce feature is a good tool for the admins of the room if they have a user that keeps comming back under different nicknames to course trouble, However only do a bounce if that user has been red dotted under more than a number of nicknames. That number of times should be left to the room owner & there admins what that figure should be if it be once / twice / three times or more. Try the red do first do.

    think lookin at this from wrong side ... maybe go to the room owners and start there ... no you wont fix all here ok not sayin that but just might get to a few and it trickle down the line ..

    the bounce power abuse is old day stuff .. and it has carried over to .. today ..
    teach new ways ... 2 rooms i hang out in they dont bounce unless it is needed and the room woners have told there admins do not bounce unless it meets this or that ..

    and mind you one of the room owners is old school and learned new ways ... the bounce is a good thing when used right ...

    I think the bounce feature is handy ..just away to get that trouble maker out so he won't do it again .. lets say you got a name stuck in the chat room how else you suppose to get that name out so the nick can come back in..Expect The Unexpected ..

    Usually getting the person who is stuck to reboot Paltalk clears the nic from the room.

    i think a bounce is a good idea as it allow the user to either sobber up or mend there ways it also shows other user that we follow room rules for each room and it tries to set up a president of room rules for all the room to follow and also to get a user name that is stuck out of the room quickly so they can come back into the room to enjoy themselfs

    I think the bounce and red dot are good features in Paltalk,it lets some people who do not show respect in a chat room,that you mean business and use it as a warning to behave in a respectful manner. As for the banned feature I do not agree with this, as I have been told people have been banned from chat rooms by the owners,not because they have done anything wrong, but a jealousy curse or just want to prove they have power to ban you. This should not be allowed, surely there is some other way this can be dealt with. Nobody should be banned for more than 24 hours from a chat room.

    Does PalTalk actually count how many bounces are done in each room? That would be too much for one person to manage, as there are more than 5,000 rooms. Counting one person's bounces? Maybe further instruction is needed. I agree a limit is needed but, further instruction on a room owner's power would probably work. Bounce only when needed, yes, especially in a "G" room. I have been in alot of rooms and have seen very very few bounces. I have a room and have bounced 2 people in 2 months. I try to not control people, as I feel the constitution applies in chat as well. Just a thought on my part, as I am rambling and rambling.

    the_ed we do track the amout of bounces done per chat room, if its higher than normal we set a warning when members join the room that the @admins in this room frequently bounce.*** Be a fan of Paltalk on Facebook -- and follow us on Twitter ***

    I agree that the bounce feature is a good item to have but sometimes admins and super admins let the power go to their heads i have witnessed this many of times bouncing for no good reason.

    FOr this truely being a community and allowed room owners/admin to run the room anyway they want and have those in the room they want this feature is a good way to do so. If we had more room options like specific age/gender/profile on/off could be a good way to restrict and decrease the amount of bounces if it could be customised in the Edit Room/Advanced Room Settings then i do believe it would decrease the amount of users getting bounced.Wayno (Loving the Paltalk Community)

    lol yep bounces is something I steer away from. I remember my first time on Pal, lol i had no profile and was saying hello what is this room about and poof i went lol I almost left Pal that day lol fortunately someone pmed me and said, dont worry about that, come I invite you to other room, since then I realized, some rooms are meeting rooms, some music and some well just crazy lol, but for me bounce should truly be limited per month lol a red dot and block does the trickWhat ever the mind accurately conceive and believe it can achieve

    In response to the title of this thread, there is definitely a necessity for the Bounce feature.

    It may be over used and abused, but there are definitely legitimate reasons as to why would you need to utilize it. For instance, you learn that someone under the age of 18 is in your Chat Room without parental supervision... or that someone under the age of 18 is in an A/R rated room.

    I do however agree that 98% of the bounces are not for those two reasons, but Paltalk want to encourage a safe environment whereby the room admin/owner can control the room as they see fit. Removing the bounce feature does not support that.

    :)Check out my Paltalk Profile & feel free to IM me on Paltalk, my nickname is the same as my forum name :-)

    Problem with bounce being limited. If the room filled up with underages in the adults playground and you remove all by bounce if they ran out of bounces due to it being limited then what would paltalk do about the underage users in A Rated lobbies? sometimes i see over 60 underages etc when the room gets on going it attracts people and therefore unlimited bounces are neccassary or will paltalk take responsibilities of A Rated rooms getting filled up with minors?Wayno (Loving the Paltalk Community)

    I think that function is dumb...that means half the rooms I walk into have that quote I also seem to think its the same admins in almost every room i go into that are bouncing people...its like they are the habitual offenders and its mostly because they love to bounce others and they like to say that in rooms.
